Originally from Ireland, Jeremy joined the NZAGRC in early 2020 as a Postdoctoral Scientist with ‘Chapter Scientist’ responsibility for the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC)’s Sixth Assessment Report.
He coordinates and supports author contributions to the report’s chapter on Agriculture and Land Use, which involves conducting literature reviews and drafting associated text as required, managing the review process, and liaising between authors and the IPCC administration.
Jeremy completed a BSc in Organic Farming at the Royal Agricultural College, Cirencester, England, and a PhD in Soil Science at University College, Dublin, in Ireland. That academic grounding is backed by practical experience working with the Irish Climate Change Advisory Council and as a consultant for a soil conservation project in Uganda.
Jeremy spent much of his youth and early adulthood working on farms, and has a particular interest in sustainable agricultural practices.
