IPCC AR6 Special Reports

During the next five years, the IPCC will publish several major reports of relevance to livestock greenhouse gas emissions.

The table specifies the IPCC reports and the cut-off date for publications to be considered by the IPCC in preparing its reports.

Sept 2019 Climate Change and Land: an IPCC Special Report on climate change, desertification, land degradation,
sustainable land management, food security, and greenhouse gas fluxes in terrestrial ecosystems

• Accepted by scientific journal or published as technical report – by February 2019

  • Physical science basis of climate change (Working Group I) -- April 2021 
  • Mitigation of climate change (Working Group III) -- July 2021
    • Submitted to scientific journal or available as draft technical report by April 2020
    • Accepted by scientific journal or published as technical report by October 2020
  • Impacts, adaptation and vulnerability to climate change (Working Group II) -- October 2021
  • Synthesis across the three Working Groups and Special Reports -- April 2022
