Scion is dedicated to building the international competitiveness of the New Zealand forest industry and building a stronger bio-based economy. Although the Centre's scope does not include forestry, Scion includes researchers with skills relevant to the Centre in the area of soil carbon that are also applicable to agricultural land.


Report: Mitigating greenhouse gases on Māori farms 2014-2017

This report covers a project to assist the Māori pastoral sector to improve its collective capacity to increase resource efficiency, farm productivity, while reducing GHG emissions. The project was based around the establishment of a network of 29 Māori farms, and intensive modelling on 4 of these farms to investigate and demonstrate the impact of mitigation strategies on farm profitability and GHG emissions.
