Dr Andy Reisinger, NZAGRC Deputy Director (International)
Andy is Deputy Director (International) of the New Zealand Agricultural Greenhouse Gas Research Centre, where he focuses on international research and capability building to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from livestock.
Andy is also vice-chair of Working Group III of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), which focuses on options to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Previously he served as coordinating lead author for two major IPCC reports released in 2014 and managed production of another report in 2007.
Andy also recently joined, part-time, the Secretariat of the Interim Climate Change Committee. The Committee has been set up by the government to develop evidence and analysis for the Climate Change Commission proposed as part of the Zero Carbon Bill.
Andy’s research interests include the role of agriculture in climate change policy, as well as climate change impacts, adaptation, uncertainty and implications for decision-making.
