
Roiana is responsible for implementing the Ag Emissions Centre's Māori research programme through identifying and fostering Māori-centred research partnerships.
Roiana is currently on extended leave.
Roiana also supports the AgEC to deliver on its Te Tiriti o Waitangi obligations and ensure that the wider AgEC science programme has strong relevance for the needs of Māori.
Roiana joined the AgEC in January 2023 and previous to this role, she was a former Te Reo Māori and General Science Secondary teacher. She holds a BSc in Cellular and Molecular Biology from The University of Waikato. Roiana’s background has been in the public service sector working for her local iwi and hapū and upholding mana motuhaketanga.
